Kowen Forest
Saturday; After a big game of footy Andrew still managed to put together a few quality practice runs ( thanks to dad push ups and shutels)
Thomas spent a fair chunk of the day on track, practicing and hanging out with his mates
Sunday: The boys were hoping for rain and they were not to be disappointed. The track started out fairly dry but there were showers all morning. Kowen track runs down a fairly steep ridge through the pine forest on Sutton Rd in Canberra, The run is fast and flowing with small jumps and some rocky patches. Thomas laid down a couple of really hot runs and posted a time of 1:35.92 and 1;36.08 which secured first place in U15s by 5.69 seconds ahead of his mate Matt, with Connor finishing a very close third. 16 riders in U15s. Thomas's run would of placed him 2nd in U17's and 2nd in U19's
Andrew also pinned it down the wet and slippery hillside in near record time of1;53.22 and 1;51.16 . He certainly looked the goods but unfortunately was pipped into second place by his mate "Maggs" by .84 of a second .Ben rounded out the top three 1.88 seconds later. 9 riders in U13s
I good day was had by all, Next race Stromlo in a Month!

Runners Up - Cooma Colts U11's
Well done to the U11 Cooma Colts who played their hearts out today at Canberra Stadium but couldn't pull off the win against Bungendore. They did themselves proud by just making the Grand Final and we're all very proud. The final score was 30 to 18. After the game today, Ian took Andrew out to Kowen to meet up with Thomas and his mates to do a few practice runs. Practice done and now looking forward to the race tomorrow. Good luck boys!!!
